It has been confirmed that there will be no classic controller support for the Wii version of PES despite it being based on the PS2 version. A Konami staffer noted that while it is possible, the team is soley focused on a brand new game for the Wii so there are no plans to make use of the classic controller for a traditional gameplay experience.

The Revolution has arrived! We go hands on with the newest addition to the PES stable.
http://wii.ign.com/a...6/846663p1.html
We only managed to squeeze in a handful of games but at the end of our short acquaintance we were already getting a feel for the new style, dictating play with the Wii-mote and Nunchuk with all the ferocity of Graham Taylor in his more unstable years. What really excites is what is capable when the controls are fully grasped – with such untold control in your hands a whole different skill set is required, and after the relative disappointment of the Xbox 360 and PS3 incarnations, Pro Evolution 2008 on the Wii looks to be the first truly next-generation offering from the series.

Famitsu Review
9899
- The game plays in an entirely unique fashion (RTS style), and effectively gives entirely unique sensations of gameplay.
-The fact that the game tends to develop more like the real soccer makes it really fun.
-The people who were used to the old control scheme might be puzzled. But because the buttons used in the game are actually so few, it is still accessible.
-The players positions and formations can be easily adjusted.
-Because the players and the cursors can be a bit small, we recommand this game to be played on a large TV.

The first sports game on Wii to revolutionize the experience rather than dumb it down.
http://wii.ign.com/a...0/860254p1.htmlThat experience has arrived.
So what makes Pro Evo so different from the other versions (or console soccer games) out there? It's simple really, and it all starts with the Wii IR. Using a quick click-and-drag system, players can conduct live tactical actions across the entire soccer field, using the A button to send teammates around the field on offense, or mark players on defense for single or double coverage, or deliver more complex tactics such as the offside trap (with a quick lift of the Wii remote) or pass guarding for fast interceptions. Think of it as the Madden Telestrator – allowing you to draw on-screen – if it was happening live, and the players were following your drawings.
The system is both simple and deep at the same time as well, since a quick tap of the A button will send any player to any position on the field, while a pull of the B trigger passes to them. Everyone on the field uses complex AI systems that lets them know instantly that they are the intended receiver of the pass as well, so a quick tap of B will not only send a ball out for a pass, but automatically start the nearest player running towards it. The end result is easily the most fluid and enjoyable soccer experience we've ever played.
Gameplay
Pro Evo has changed the game of soccer, hopefully forever. Pointer control blends speed and fluidity with unprecedented strategy, and it’s an extremely rewarding innovation.
Jestem mile zaskoczony .
