A portion of a Destructoid interview with Seth Killian, Capcom’s Community Manager…
http://www.destructo... ... 5243.phtmlDtoid : Starting simply, why isn’t Tatsunoko vs Capcom coming to the United States?
Seth Killian, Capcom’s Community Manager : We’ve had some licensing challenges, and if you’ve read the Capcom-Unity blog, I’m a big fan of the game and posting all the material I have on it up there, cause it’s a great, great fun new experience, but the licensing hurdles …
You know, Tatsunoko is all owned by…Tatsunoko in Japan. And in the West, they’re not. A lot of challenges there, but we’ve definitely recognized interest from a lot of people, and we’re looking to try and find a way to get Tatsunoko vs Capcom action to Western fans.
Dtoid : So there is a chance Tatsunoko vs Capcom will come to the United States?
SK : Yes

RUMOR - More secret characters in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
http://www.gonintend...y.php?id=109829"There's all the new characters and there's some secret characters we haven't revealed yet" - Capcom booth employee discussing the build that was being played
A: So could you tell us who the new characters are?
Seth Killian, Capcom: That's still a secret and you won't be finding out until a few weeks
A: Oh, ok so what about the new mini-games?
Seth Killian, Capcom: I'm afraid you'll have to wait for that just like the characters. The news will be announced soon, though by then the game will be out. *laughs*

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Review
Here comes a new challenger!
Closing Comments
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is an amazing win for not only Wii, but the worldwide audience overall. As I consider it to be the true successor of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, TVC melds a few classic Capcom characters with an otherwise totally unknown roster and still manages to make a fighter that can pull anyone in within a matter of moments. The gameplay is simple enough for a fighting game newbie, but deep enough for seasoned brawlers to really sink their teeth into and enjoy.
There are a few inherent downsides to the experience, including the fact that half the roster is entirely unknown outside of Japan, and there’s always the issue of TVC being “too casual” or “too hardcore” for certain people. But when it comes to taking the tried and true Vs. formula that Capcom has continued over the years and making something truly unique and captivating for the Wii crowd, I say "mission accomplished."
The roster is extremely diverse, there’s plenty of content to unlock (most of which was never found in the Japanese version), and the core gameplay is just downright fun. I may be in the minority, but I’d take a few rounds of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom over Street Fighter IV any day. It’s no wonder 360 and PS3 fans are begging for the game to see a multi-console version, as Ultimate All-Stars is a true gem worthy of the Capcom fighting legacy.

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom devs talks original plans for Phoenix Wright, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, sequel appearances and more
http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=113861- Ingrid from the Capcom Fighting Jam (Evolution) was the first test model for the game, but didn't make the final cut
- Phoenix Wright was another character that didn't make the cut, but he never made it to test model phase
- The team didn't know how to animate Phoenix's legs, so they considered having him in a drivable desk, but then ditched the whole idea for the character
- Nizuma said these characters could always appear in a sequel
- Arthur from Ghouls 'n Ghosts was originally planned, including his own level, but he was also cut
- mini-games were mostly cut for the NA release due to time constraints
- Eighting said that including all characters in the mini-game wouldn't work, which is how we wound up with the 4 playable characters we have
